Mosaic Stepping Stones

Create a personalized and permanent addition to your garden or walkway in this fun one day class!

We’ll begin with discussion about the inspiration and intention behind creating your mosaic, and the many ways mosaics can bring magic. There will be a short guided meditation to connect with these intentions and to welcome our whole selves to this project.

Instruction will be given on the process of composing a strong design for your mosaic (you can come with an idea and we can adapt it if needed). We’ll learn cutting techniques using hand tools, and how to assemble pieces to bring your design to life in glass. Then, we will cast our mosaics in concrete in a circular mold, which ensures that your stepping stone holds together permanently and has a flat surface.

This class has been a favorite over the years, and well over 700 stepping stones have been made by my students.

A hearty and nutritious lunch will be provided, prepared by my husband Bill, and served in our 200 year old farmhouse.

Components of this Workshop:

You’ll learn how to use hand tools for cutting glass safely.
You’ll learn about patterns used in mosaics and ways to arrange your glass bits for the effect you’re wanting.
You’ll be inspired by the work of the other students and start thinking about your next piece!
We’ll follow a fun process that I developed for casting our mosaic designs in concrete inside a round mold.
You’ll be able to pick up your mosaic once it’s had a chance to cure in the mold (it usually takes about 5-7 days)
You’ll become a proud owner of an original work of art to be featured in your garden, or anywhere in your yard.
