Mobile Making Workshop March 23

By Christine KenneallyPublished On: March 15, 2024

As we approach the spring equinox, the glorious point on the Earth’s cycle when we have equal day and equal night, I’ve been feeling the importance of finding balance. The transition from winter to spring is joyful, and can also be somewhat turbulent if we are not intentional with how we spend our energy. There are so many ways to bring balance into our lives; we have this great opportunity to align with what is happening in nature right now. I find that it’s a practice I have to be intentional about, both internally (with my thoughts and intentions) and externally (with my actions and what I create).

One of the ways I am practicing balance externally is by making mobiles, using materials from nature. Nature gives us such a rich array of opposites: crooked vs straight, heavy vs light, airy vs solid, neutral vs bright, solid vs open, simple vs complex, odd vs even, warm vs cool, calm vs energetic, still vs moving, just to name a few.

The process of making a mobile allows us to explore all of these realms while connecting with nature and with ourselves.

On Saturday, March 23, 2024 I’ll be leading the first ever workshop in my studio in Conway, surrounded by nature.

The class will begin with a guided meditation to help us ground into our intention for the day. I will share some teachings on the energies present with this portal of the spring equinox, and we’ll discuss it’s meaning to each of us, along with an opportunity to share about what we are wanting to bring into fruition this season.

Then, we’ll take a short walk together to connect with nature and to gather a few items to include in your mobile.

Following our walk, I will guide you in the process of crafting your own mobile. I have a wide variety of materials for us to use, and you may also bring with you any special items you’d like to include. The class will be focused on process, and on the quality of balance.

Once we are finished with our mobiles, we’ll have a brief sharing, and if you wish, your mobile can be charged with Reiki energy.

Date: Saturday March 23, 2024

Time: 1:00-4:30 pm

Cost: $75 including materials

The class will be limited to 5 people (to ensure adequate space for all of the mobiles to hang!)

I learned much more than I ever expected. Not only about mosaics, but about my creative abilities. I went into the class thinking I had none, but Christine pushed me to think outside the box and develop my creativity.
