Making Mobiles

By Published On: April 2, 2024

As we approach the fall equinox, where we have equal amount of darkness and light, we will explore the concept of balance, through creating mobiles.

Nature gives us an abundance of opposites. In this class we will explore some of the many juxtapositions available to us in the natural world, and consider how we can play with the balance between these opposites. Some examples include: crooked vs straight, heavy vs light, airy vs solid, neutral vs bright, solid vs open, simple vs complex, odd vs even, warm vs cool, calm vs energetic, still vs moving, symmetrical vs asymmetrical, etc.

The process of making a mobile allows us to explore all of these realms while connecting with nature and with the many ways we can find balance within ourselves, remembering that where we put our attention, life grows.

Components of this Workshop:

  • We’ll discuss the energies present with this portal of the fall equinox, and their meaning to each of us.
  • We’ll have time to journal about what we are wanting to bring into fruition this season, with an option to share with the group.
  • Then, we’ll take a short walk together to connect with nature and to gather a few items to include in your mobile.

  • I have a wide variety of materials for us to use, and you may also bring with you any special items you’d like to include.
