In this 6 week series, experience the luminous beauty of glass by making glass on glass mosaics.

This method of making mosaics really celebrates the incredible way light shines through glass, casting colorful reflections around the room. The outcome is similar to stained glass, in that it can hang in the window and let light shine through. But the technique of mosaics means that it’s a much more forgiving process than stained glass. Your pieces will have the hand cut look (no need for precision here!) and you’ll use a clear silicone glue to adhere them to your clear glass substrate. Then, on the final night of class, we will use grout to fill in the joints, as in other styles of mosaic. You will create 2-3 small mosaics to hang in the window during this series. Let the light shine!

Cost: $435, including all materials

Dinner will be provided! To build our sense of community, we will share dinner together at the start of class time. I will provide a simple dinner for everyone to share at the beginning of class, or you may bring your own food. The first 30 minutes of class will be for arrival, connection and eating, with no glass being cut during this time, for food safety reasons. Weather permitting, we can eat outside. If you can’t arrive until 5:30, please plan to eat before arriving.
