Building Beauty, One Piece at a Time: Student Mosaics From a Season of Workshops

By Published On: June 13, 2025

When people come together to create, the inspiration is exponential!

It has been such a rewarding season of workshops. I love the chance to participate in the creative process as a guide, teacher and witness. Bringing an idea to life takes commitment, courage and patience. It’s an experience that has both highs and lows, and offers an opportunity for us to learn about ourselves and about each other.

I love mosaics because of the many ways to do it well; there are as many approaches as there are artists. This collection of art made in my workshops this spring is proof of that. Big thanks to all the artists whose work is represented here: Marcia, Sue, Dee, Lucy, Judy, Nanci, Caroline, Stella, Rob, Dayle, Bridget, Nan, Alyssa, Joy, Miretta, Jo-Ann, Carol, Joyce, Deb, Stacy, Andrea, Debbi, & Ann. And congratulations on a job well done. It’s been such a pleasure working with all of you.

Here are some testimonials from students about their experience:

Christine has.created a magical container for creativity; sharing mosaic skills and gentle guidance in a beautiful hillside studio filled with the inspiration of fellow artists. – Nanci, Northfield MA.

“I love working with Christine in her peaceful studio. Christine is nonjudgmental, always willing to give supportive suggestions and extends herself beyond. It has been a joy to spend time working in her studio and to exchange creative ideas. She spurs me on to continue to be creative and complete projects. What a joy! –Sue B Northampton, MA

Christine brings an energy of warmth, support and the joy of creativity to her mosaic classes. She is a skilled teacher who supports each student where they are at. –M.W. Northampton

Christine is a thoughtful and creative teacher. With a caring approach to students who have a variety of interests and levels of experience she responds to their questions and ideas by sharing individualized possibilities for moving forward in their work. Her classes are both industrious and fun. Judy Darrow Freed, Brattleboro, VT
